Partners I Solar Power System Gets a Boost

The Partners I photovoltaic (PV) system, long used for NC Clean Energy Technology Center’s solar class, is back online with new upgrades, real-time monitoring and fresh opportunities for teaching and learning.
The system went offline last year, opening the door for Energy Management to secure funding for repairs and upgrades.
Now equipped with a new inverter and tied into the building automation system (BAS), the PV array produces just under 20 kW and can be monitored remotely in real time.

Energy Management aims to leverage this renewed functionality to support expanded teaching and learning opportunities for students, staff and visitors interested in renewable energy systems and sustainable infrastructure.
